Macomb Middle School students write about their Spring break experiences
Over the break I did a lot of things, especially cleaning. I played with my little brother a lot more and also played a lot of video games over the break. Lastly, I celebrated my little brother’s birthday in Springfield, Illinois.

During my break I slept in, hung out with my friend and family. I had the opportunity to practice softball. I enjoyed the weather and I enjoyed tanning, so I am very happy that I got to do that! One thing I did that was fun was shopping in Quincy over the weekend.
When break was going on I to relax a lot which was very nice. My little sister had a volleyball game so I got to watch her. My 8th grade graduation dress came in last week.
It was very pretty and I really liked it. It is a beautiful navy-blue color! Overall, I had an enjoyable break! Ady T.
My break was an absolute blast. I was outside a ton, enjoying the sun and the weather. My brother’s birthday was over the break. So, I enjoyed celebrating it with him. I also stayed up late before we had to go back to school. I decided to be crafty while I had free time as well, which turned out amazing!
Another thing, I cleaned up a ton, since that’s kind of my thing! Zay S.
During my spring break, I watched March Madness and watched Western play against North Carolina. Although it did not have the best outcome it was still fun to watch. During break I went golfing and spent a lot of time outside. Lastly, during my break I got to hang out with some of my friends and do things like go to the movies and watch some new shows. Emma R.
My spring break was great. My family has a big pond in the country. I went fishing and I went on a boat and just chilled. I also played video games and slept in. One of my favorite things that I did over the break was swimming. The water was cold, but I liked it. I almost tipped my canoe over while I was using the paddle. My neighbors have a black dog that I love. Braxton G.
What did I do over spring break? I got a new pet and his name is Bob. My family got DQ and we took my dog to the park. I started to watch a new TV show, so far so good. Josie W.
Over spring break I enjoyed sleeping in.
Also, I went to the skatepark with two of my friends. We talked and road skateboards. I binged watched a couple of my shows “the Rookie,” and “the Flash.” Also, I went to a birthday party out in Quincy as Fun Scotties and played a lot of games. Starlyn B.
Over the break I slept in and relaxed without worrying about school. I baked chocolate chip cookies and played card games with my family. I also went over to my cousin’s house to take care of their dog and cat. Jenna L.
Over spring break, I slept in every weekday. Over the weekends, I had a volleyball tournament, so I couldn’t sleep in. On Thursday and Friday, I celebrated my birthday out of town with two of my close friends. We went to the mall and ate at good restaurants. I enjoyed being able to be with my friends, and having almost no assignments over break.

During spring break, I walked and played with my dog a lot. I also started watching new movies called Coneheads, and Scream Seven. One thing I am bringing back from break is cleaning, and I would use this in school by picking up trash and throwing it away. Tyrese C.
Over break I got to spend it with my grandparents. I also went to Chicago, seen more of my family. When I came back, I got to see all my friends. This spring break was different but I like it. Aniylah May R.
Something that I did over spring break: I went to Springfield and shopped at their mall. Then with my family, I went to Golden Corral. I also went to Peoria to see one of my friends I haven’t seen in over four years. One thing that I am bringing back over spring break is focusing more on my grades. This is so I can succeed in all of my classes so I do not fail. This is also my goal so I do not get held back and so I can make it over to the highschool. Haley T.
Over the break, I went to Peoria with my family. I went to my grandmother's dr. appointment around 10. Then I went to my dr. appointment and had an MRI for my wrist. After that, we went to Culver’s and ate there. Then, we went to Walmart, and did a scavenger hunt trying to find the things we needed. Then, we went to Sam’s Club and stayed there for an hour. After that, we dropped my grandma off at her house and went home. I was able to finish reading one of my books, and I got two more. The days we were home, I helped my dad with our vehicles. Over the break I got to go to the track with my friends. We played volleyball and soccer together and I had a lot of fun. After that, I spent the next few days at home. I watched a lot of Disney movies with my siblings. On Friday, I went to see the new Disney movie, Hoppers, and got Lego flowers. Over the weekend, I went shopping and bought new clothes such as sweatpants and tanktops.

Over the break I went to Florida with my family and saw my stepbrother at college. I also went to the beach everyday and when we were there, me and my brothers played football. Another day, we went shopping at Madeira Beach. It was really fun and I got some nice clothes. Once I got back from Florida, I saw my cousins for a little bit and worked out at the YMCA with them. I did a lot of tanning but I got way more sunburnt than I did tan. Paityn H.
Over break I went to my dads house in Missouri. I got to spend time with my brother, that I don’t get to see often. I went shopping with my stepmom which was fun because, we went to the mall there and I enjoy shopping.
Overall my favorite thing I did was being able to go outside and play volleyball because the weather was so nice. Kaylea C.
Over the break, I went to Chicago to visit family, go to the mall, went to trampoline parks, and had a BBQ cookout. And when I got back home I hung out with friends at the YMCA, movies, and my house. I also slept in most of the days, and just stayed in my room over spring break. Abilleon D.
Over spring break, I had to continue the daily routine of taking my medicine then putting my dog on his lead so he can use the bathroom. After that’s complete, I sit down with my dad on the couch and spend time with him by watching a movie or me yapping about canines or dinosaurs. I like spending time with my father because I don’t know how much time I have left with him since he has stage 4 colon cancer. One thing I am bringing back from break is motivation because last quarter I had very little motivation to succeed and this quarter I want to pass with better grades. Christina H.
Over break I went to Florida and collected a lot of shells. It was a lot of fun to be in Florida, but it was very cold. Some of the days the high was only 55°, which made the ocean very cold. One day it was around 65°, so we went into the ocean and there were 10-foot waves. It was really fun to ride the waves, and to jump that high. Dean (Bradley) W.
Over the break I went to Florida with Dean. Every day we went to the beach and swam in the ocean. We often went out to eat at good seafood place and even fast food places. My favorite part was probably exploring and walking around the city with my friend and just finding cool store. Zach N.
