MHS Girls Soccer Wins Home Opener Over Olympia 4-3

The Macomb High girls soccer team opened the home portion of its 2026 season with a 4-3 over Stanford Olympia Tuesday afternoon at MHS Stadium.

Coming off a 0-1-2 performance in tournament action at East Peoria, the Bombers scored twice in the opening half to lead at the break.

But Olympia tallied three goals in the 40 minutes and the Bombers needed two more goals in the second half in notching the win.

Seventy five percent of the Macomb offense was “Taylor” made as freshman Taylor Mann scored twice, while junior Taylor Baldi also scored a goal for the Bombers.

It would be sophomore Reva Koeppen who would be credited with the game-winning goal.

Mann had a team-leading six shots in the contest, while Kate Rector had four shots. Sophie Hansen and Valentina Perez also had shots for the hosts.

In goal, junior Natasha Lin recorded six saves.

Olympia slipped to 1-3 on the season, suffering its third straight loss.

The Bombers return to the home pitch Monday to face Peoria Christian before playing its next four matches on the road.

It will be the season opener for Peoria Christian.
