Letter to the Editor:
I’m writing in-regards to the upcoming McDonough County Primary Election, and specifically, the McDonough County Sheriff’s Race.
Nick Petitgout has served above and beyond the office of sheriff and he gives back to our community. He volunteers, participates, and is active in the community and organizations outside the office of McDonough County Sheriff. Many of which, we may not see, that he does on his own time. These points have been stated, in previous, well written letters to the editor.
Nick Petitgout has 20 years of proven experience, serving in the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, including being elected and serving as Sheriff.
Nick and his family are invested in our community, and they have built and molded a positive and giving relationship with the citizens and residents of McDonough County, as well as, with our State, and the United States of America.
One of the great things we are afforded in this country, is having the right to an opinion. However, to have a valid opinion, it needs to be based upon, actual, valid and true facts; and not on hearsay, rumors, and spin.
Also, in today’s world, it is becoming more important, and necessary, to analyze and determine why someone is saying, doing or reacting the way that they are? There is always more to the story.
Before you vote, ask yourself this important question: Why is each candidate running for the office of McDonough County Sheriff?
