The Macomb Middle School seventh grade boys track squad captured a team title during Saturday’s Illinois Elementary School Association Class 3A Sectional 9 competition held at Williamsville.
The Bombers topped 15 other teams, posting a score of 115 points, well ahead of second place Rochester, who finished with 79 points.
In the other divisions, the eighth grade boys placed third out of 16 teams with 81 points.
The seventh grade girls also finished third out of 16 teams with 60 points, while the eighth grade girls were sixth of 16 teams with 45.5 points.

It should be noted that event winners and those meeting or exceeding qualifying standards as set by the IESA qualify for the state finals slated for Friday and Saturday at Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
