The 45th Annual Geodeland Earth and Science Clubs, Inc. (GESCI) Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show, “Sensational Selenite,” was held March 14-15 in the University Union Grand Ballroom on the Western Illinois University-Macomb campus.This year’s event featured a display of selenite from throughout the world, as well as meteorite display. The show featured a wide range of gems, minerals and fossils from around the region, the nation and around the globe, as well as numerous items, such as jewelry and carved pieces, available for purchase. The show also offered activities for kids, a fluorescent minerals display, a fossil dig, a spin-and-win and a geode race.
