Bomber Track Teams Take Part In Jacksonville Invite

The Macomb High boys and girls track teams headed to Jacksonville Friday to take part in the Jacksonville held at King Fieldhouse on the campus of Illinois College.

Two dozen schools participated. In the team standings, the MHS boys finished eighth with 31 points. Mascoutah captured the title with 115 points, well ahead of second place Jacksonville High (70 points).

The MHS girls finished 10th with 23 points. Alton took top team honors with 99.5 points followed by Mascoutah with 87.5 points.

The Bomber boys had one event winner as Charlie Bodiford took top honors in the shot put with an effort of 15.24-meters (50-feet).

In addition, Alex Simmons finished second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes,

20.98 seconds. He was also fourth in the 1600 with a time of 4:48.02.

Reed Lytle placed third in the pole vault with an effort of 3.15m

(10-4).

4x200 relay - MHS (Jayden Lindsey, Blaze Howell, Johnny Powell and Clauson), 16th, 1:58.62.

4x400 - MHS (Singh, Powell, Lindsey and Anderson), 13th,

4x800 - MHS (Xander Merritt, Haley, Eymen Tasdan and Petitgout), 11th, 9:48.87. High jump - Lindsey, NP, NH.

Pole vault - Landon Richards, NP, NH.

Long jump - Anderson, 13th,

5.48m (17-11.75) and Lindsey,

21st, 5.03m (16-6).

Triple jump - Jeshua McPheeters, ninth, 10.16m (33-4) and Singh, 11th, 9.88m (32-5).

For the MHS girls, Jordan Hines placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.05 seconds.

Clair Thompson finished fourth in the high jump (1.50m/4-11), while Lucy Platt was fourth in the pole vault (2.40m/7-10.50).

Long jump - O’Hern, 20th,

4.13m (13-6.50) and Baileigh Gray,

34th, 3.72m (12-2.50).

Triple jump - Huston, ninth,

9.43m (30-11.25).
