Reporting Lead Water Pipes Requirement for Macomb Residents

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires the City of Macomb to notify residents whose water service line is identified as lead, galvanized, or unknown.

Citizens who received a letter regarding their water service line must report their service line material. Reporting can be done online at tinyurl.com/MacombLeadPipeSurveyor by calling the Department of Public Works at 309-833-2821.

Please note that receiving a letter does not indicate that your water is unsafe. The City treats its water with a corrosion inhibitor, which prevents lead from dissolving into the drinking water. Based on our testing results, this treatment is working effectively. Please call 309-833-2821 with questions.
