Letter to the Editor:
This letter comes to register my displeasure with the Moon Campaign’s continued efforts to win the office of McDonough County Sheriff through negative campaigning. Moon’s campaign includes glossy mailers designed to ruin Sheriff Petitgout’s reputation. Much of the information includes an obvious twisting of the facts and the Moon Campaign has received push back in several letters to the editor concerning distortion of the truth.
If Moon and his backers truly believe he is the better choice then why don’t they just run on his record and credentials? Why is it necessary to defame and slander Sheriff Petitgout’s reputation? I am in agreement with previous “Letters to the Editor,” there seems to be a personal vendetta against Sheriff Petitgout and no real desire to improve the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office.
My vote in the March 17 primary is for Sheriff Nick Petitgout, who in my view has displayed great integrity and restraint during this campaign for McDonough County Sheriff.
