The Bushnell Woman’s Club met, Monday, March 10, 2026 at 7 p.m. at Tellers. Hostesses were Jada Wetzel, Beverly Powell and Linda Louthain.
The hostesses decorated with a St.
Patrick’s Day theme with lots of pots of gold and shamrocks. They served shamrock cookies, mini cupcake, mini brownie bites, spinach dip with french bread pieces, and lime sherbet punch.
JoAnn Harriston-Jones presented the program on Glass Recycling in McDonough County. Several local McDonough County organizations and agencies have partnered with Ripple Glass to offer a glass recycling option to all county residents and businesses. Ripple Glass accepts all colors of food and beverage glass. If you can see through it, it can be recycled. Glass can be dropped off in the purple bin at the Farm King parking lot..
JoEllen Pensinger, president, called the meeting to order with eleven ladies answering the roll call question “What I would do with $100.00. The minutes and treasurer’s report were presented and accepted.
Committee reports were given. The nominating committee will be presenting a new slate of officers at the April meeting. The May outing committee will be presenting Day Out ideas at the April meeting also. Linda Raby read a delightful card from Liz Scott. Bushnell Library asked for volunteers to help on Mondays after construction projects were completed.
JoEllen reported she has spoken with the Chamber of Commerce about the Bushnell Woman’s Club volunteering to be railroad crossing guards again for May Play Days and Fall Festival festivities.
Jada Wetzel reported UMC is collecting empty Rx bottles to be sent to third world countries. The ladies were asked to put clean Rx bottles without labels into a bag and get to a UMC member.
The next meeting will be April 13 at 7 p.m. at Tellers. Linda Raby, Beth Pierce and Carol Anderson are the hostesses.
