Area Boys Basketball Players Receive Prairieland Honors

Prairieland Conference boys basketball coaches from the South and North Divisions have announced their selections for their respective all-conference teams.

Members of the Prairieland Conference South Division First Team include the following: Nolan Hoge, senior and Drew Watson, senior from Macomb.

Hoge averaged 9.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Bombers, who finished the season with a final record of 20-11.

Watson averaged 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He finished his high school career with 998 points.

Braden Coplan, junior, West Prairie.

Coplan played in all 33 games for the Cyclones, averaging 26.5 points per game.

He also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game for West Prairie, who finished the season with a final record of 26-7.

Coplan surpassed the 1,900 point mark by season’s end.

Also selected to the first team were Illini West seniors Wesley Robertson and Ethan Carlisle All five players were unanimous selections.

Prairieland Conference South Division Second Team selections included the following.

Carter Havens, junior, Macomb.

Havens averaged 8.1 points for the Bombers.

Holden Coplan, freshman, West Prairie.

Holden averaged 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Cyclones.

Also selected to the second team were the following.

De’Arion Ruffin-Thomas, senior, Bushnell-Prairie City Carter Brooks, senior, Havana Myles Wear, sophomore and Brennan Grotts, senior, Illini West Riley Fogelsong, junior, South Fulton Prairieland Conference South Division Special Mention selections included the following: Ryan Clark, senior, West Prairie Clark averaged 9.1 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Cyclones.

Other special mention selections include Connor Palm, senior Bushnell-Prairie City Jack Turner, sophomore, Havana West Prairie was also honored with the division’s sportsmanship award.

In the final season standings, Illini West won the division title with a 5-0 record. Macomb was next at 4-1, followed by West Prairie at 3-2, Havana at 2-3, South

Fulton at 1-4 and B-PC at 0-5.

Members of the Prairieland Conference North Division First Team include the following: Connor Doe, senior and Dawson Traphagan senior, Brimfield Landon Crawford, senior and Boston Smith senior, Farmington Garrett Webster, senior, Elmwood Connor Munson, senior, North Fulton Doe, Crawford and Smith were unanimous selections.

Members of the Prairieland Conference North Division Second Team include the following: Logan Gardner, sophomore, Farmington Paul Connolly, junior; Brody Thum, senior, and Kolby Cleer, senior, North Fulton Deandre Marks, junior and Tamarius Berry, freshman, Peoria Heights Prairieland Conference North Division Special Mention include the following: Jackson Kappes, senior and Quinton Johns, junior, Elmwood Jack Gronewald, senior, Farmington Peoria Heights was the recipient of the sportsmanship award.

In the final season standings, Farmington claimed the division title with a 4-1 record.

North Fulton and Brimfield both finished at 3-2, while Elmwood and Peoria Heights posted 2-3 records in division play. Lewistown finished with a 1-4 record.
