77, of Macomb
Gary Gordon Harris, 77, of Macomb passed away at 10:43 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born on March 13, 1948 to Kermit and Joan Arney Harris. He married Greta Hornbaker in 1977 in Joliet, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Brett (Brandi) Harris of Tinley Park, Illinois, Bart (Lacey) Harris of Cary, Illinois and Brittany (Bill) Fraley of Manhatton, Illinois; nine grandchildren; brother, Mark (Lisa) Harris and two sisters, Wendy (Steve) Cooley and Melissa (Jeff) Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary lived in Matteson for many years and Macomb for 18 years. He was an Elementary Gym teacher for 35 years before his retirement.
He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He also loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Annex in LaHarpe from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and food will be served..
Memorials may be made to Life Guard Ambulance service in Macomb.
