Macomb City Township Assessor Glenda Bryan told the Township Board Tuesday that she recently met with local realtors. She said they had a good discussion about local properties and exemptions.
In other business, Macomb City Township Supervisor Angela Markley gave a report on general assistance clients for January. She said her office handed out 13 applications that month and reviewed a total of 38 applications. Markley said five applications were denied and decisions are pending for five others.
The supervisor said nine men and five women were determined to be employable, 10 men and nine women are applying for disability status, and three men and two women were determined to be medically exempt from employment. Markley said her office distributed $14,807 in general assistance funds last month, the largest amount being $9,950 for shelter expenses.
