Bushnell Roundup

ROBIN’S

Hello Friends It’s been a while! Let’s get to it! What is with our weather? Are we in Spring already? Was the groundhog wrong? Will there be more of this weather or will winter sneak back in for a last hurrah? Who knows?? The “Midwest shuffle” is not a dance I prefer – but my utility bill is having a tiny a reprieve, that’s for sure!

With this crazy weather surrounding us, please be vigilant for storms popping up. My weather app on my phone indicated there may be a tornado warning next week! So expect the unexpected! Still with the warm weather, please check on your neighbors to make sure they are taken care of. It’s the right thing to do!

It feels like we are all united while watching these athletes do what they have trained for their entire life. And a little big of Snoop thrown in isn’t a bad thing to see either. I remember watching Nadia Comaneci perform and was mesmerized at her talent. Sacrifices from the athletes and their families for this one moment. What dedication and talent these folks have.

Don’t forget to vote in the primary election, March 17th. Your vote does count – make sure you get out and vote or do it by mail if that option is better for you.

McDonough County is under a county-wide burn ban due to high fire risk and dry conditions. All open burning is prohibited until further notice. Please be respectful and follow this directive.

“One of the healthiest things a woman can do for her mental health is protect her whimsy, not her productivity, not her image, her whimsy. The soft belief that life can still surprise her. That there are angels, luck, alignment, whatever she chooses to call it, quietly working in her favor. The world keeps trying to harden women. Tells them to be realistic, grounded, unbothered. But there’s nothing weak about staying enchanted. It takes strength to still believe in good things after you’ve seen how cruel life can be. Protect your whimsy, water your delusion. Keep the sparkle, the romance, the childlike wonder. It's not denial, it’s resistance. In a world that profits off women being tired and cynical, staying hopeful is its own quiet rebellion.” Thespiritualbeginning Stay safe - Robin Wilt
