The Legacy Theater will take a step back into musical history, to “The Day the Music Died” with a memorable show in Carthage at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21.
John Mueller's Winter Dance Party is the official re-creation of the last tour of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P “The Big Bopper” Richardson before they died in a tragic plane crash February 3, 1959, crash near Clear Lake, Iowa.
This tribute to their final performance is the only show endorsed by the Holly, Valens, and Richardson estates.
It includes over two hours of high energy entertainment featuring hit songs of the 50's era: That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, and more.
John Mueller is the former star of the U.S. tour of the Broadway and London hit musical “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.” Mueller performs as Holly along with Ray Anthony as Ritchie Valens and Lindwood Sasser as The Big Bopper, backed up with an award-winning four piece band.
They have shared this show across the United States and Canada in live and telecast performances.
Tickets to John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party are available at the Legacy Theater Box office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1160 Buchanan (Rt. 136) in Carthage. The box office is open one hour prior to shows.
