Daksh Patel, son of Sejal and Ketankumar Patel, has been named the MidAmerica National Bank Senior of the Month for February 2026. Daksh is very involved in school activities, he serves as the captain of the MHS Scholastic Bowl team and is also the secretary of the Iteract Club. He is also a member of the Ecology Club, Spanish Club, Science Olympiad, Math Team, National Honor Society, and Thespians. Daksh has earned the College Board School recognition and rural and small-town awards. He placed first individually in the Prairieland Scholastic Bowl Conference.
Community involvement is also very important to Daksh. He has consistently volunteered at the McDonough County Teen Court program and at the League of Women Voters’ public candidate forum.
In his free time, he enjoys cooking, reading, spending time with his friends, and amateur linguistics. Daksh works at his family business, the Star Motel, as a per diem receptionist.
Following graduation, Daksh plans to attend a local 4-year university and major in Biology, with plans to apply to medical school to become a physician.
As the February Senior of the Month, Daksh was presented a cash award of $100.00 and is eligible for the Senior of the Year Award in May 2026.
