(from wirpc.org/about/) Western Illinois Regional Council (WIRC) is a western Illinois nonprofit with big goals to change people's lives for the better. WIRC's mission is to partner with people and communities to improve lives and neighborhoods.
WIRC aims to accomplish its mission by providing social service programs to people in need, recycling programs to help the environment, and community development services to local elected officials.
Most importantly, WIRC cannot accomplish our mission without people who donate their time by volunteering, give monetary donations to support its programs, or share information about services with people who could be helped by them.
WIRC's Approach When providing services, WIRC follows a compassionate approach guided by the following principles.
Inclusive Environment Everyone who comes through the door should feel safe and comfortable expressing their true self. The WIRC team values and encourages diversity and inclusion.
Family-centered Services Social service programs are not silos. The WIRC team works together to listen to stories and find as many solutions as they can for the entire household.
Trauma-informed Services Asking for help should not be a traumatic experience. At WIRC, team members treat people with respect and compassion without judgment.
