Beverly Ruth Steele

66, of Macomb

Beverly Ruth Steele, 66, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 2:37 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois surrounded by several family members.

She was born August 12, 1959, in Macomb, Illinois, to Paul and Ruby (Walkley) Briggs. She married Raymond D. Steele on August 19, 1977, in Macomb, Illinois, and he survives.

Also surviving are her son, Brian (Mollie Dawn) Steele of Blandinsville, Illinois; two grandsons, Bryant Steele and Gunner (Laney England) Steele, both of Blandinsville, Illinois; an adopted daughter, Abby (Dustin) Anderson of Marietta, Illinois; four siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jimmy Steele; two sisters; and one brother.

Beverly graduated from Macomb High School and later attended Spoon River College, where she earned her nursing assistant certificate. She devoted her entire adult life to caring for others, working in nursing homes, providing help-at-home services, and serving as a physical therapist assistant. Beverly truly enjoyed her work and especially loved meeting and caring for new clients.

She loved the outdoors and could often be found camping and fishing at Spring Lake Park. Coming from a large family and marrying into a large family, Beverly cherished time spent with those she loved. She was incredibly proud of her two grandsons and was their biggest fan, attending their school events, taking them camping and fishing, encouraging their love of hunting and the outdoors, and supporting them as they followed their passions and careers. Beverly enjoyed playing Keno with the girls, the annual fish fry Rolo and the crew put on every year. She was also thankful for her camping family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 16, 2026, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Guy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Spring Lake Park. Please sign the guestbook and leave condolences at www.dodsworthfh.com.
