Hickory Ride Concerts welcomes Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter Dave Rudolf to the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at the historic Ellisville Opera House in Ellisville.
Rudolf is a long-time performer and a multiaward winning singer/songwriter who just released his 46th album. He has been widely acclaimed for his powerful voice, intricate guitar work, and down-right humorous stage presence.
He is a rare blend of musicianship and comedy who presents a fascinating array of musical characters with a wit that is both ingratiating and disarming.
Described as a “slightly weird, super talented, and mega versatile entertainer, Rudolf performs a delightful array of rollicking tunes with clever lyrics but it’s his incredible rapport with the audience that sets him apart from other performers. He is an award-winning children's author with three children's books; wrote for Disney; did a TV pilot for the All-New Captain Kangaroo, and is a 15-time nominee for Entertainer of the Year awards from the NACA (The National Association for Campus Activities). He has shared the stage with The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, The Mamma and Pappas, Steve Goodman, John Hartford and The Smother Brothers among countless others.
The Hickory Ridge Concert Series is hosted by singer-songwriter Chris Vallillo. Concerts are usually (but not always) held on the third Saturday of the month and begin at 7 p.m., with the doors opening at 6 p.m. The Ellisville Opera House is a second story venue; however, they do have an elevator and air conditioning. Coffee, drinks, and a variety of desserts are available during intermission. There is an admission charge of $10 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free.
