The Bushnell-Prairie City High School girls basketball team dropped its regular season finale to South Fulton Wednesday night 45-30.
The Prairieland Conference South Division contest was originally scheduled for Jan. 26, but postponed by bad weather.
South Fulton improved to 5-20 overall, 1-4 in division play, while B-PC slipped to 4-20 overall, 0-5 in division play.
South Fulton grabbed an 8-3 lead after the opening eight minutes as a Jules Kreps 3-pointer accounted for B-PC’s only points.
Both teams struggled offensively in the second quarter with the Spartans outscoring the Rebels 7-6 to narrow the deficit to 14-10 at halftime.
South Fulton seized control of the contest in the third period, scoring 20 points.
Dixie Chenoweth connected for a pair of 3-pointers, while Karie Miller added seven points. That allowed the visitors to build a 34-19 advantage heading into the final frame.
Kreps topped B-PC with eight points. Mylee Chenoweth added seven points, followed by Kendyl McCleery and Justice Klinedinst with five points each.
Jersey Jones chipped in three points and Scarlett Countryman two for the Spartans.
Emma Gorsuch topped South Fulton with 11 points, nine coming in the fourth quarter.
Chenoweth added nine points on the strength of three treys, followed by Miller and Annie Kessler with seven points apiece.
Alaina Dutton added five points, followed by Preslea Parker with four and Kynley Mitchell with two.
B-PC finished 15-of-30 from the free throw line, compared to 14-of-23 for South Fulton.
The Spartans will travel to Brimfield (12-15) on Saturday in a first-round regional matchup.
That winner advances to face Princeville in Monday’s semifinal at Abingdon.
Meanwhile, South Fulton will head to Lewistown (16-12) Saturday for an opening-round regional contest.
The winner will face Athens on Monday in semifinal round play at Lewistown.
