Letter to Editor Policy

The Community News Brief welcomes our readers' opinions, including Letters to the Editor. The Community News Brief would like to remind those submitting Letters to the Editor for consideration of our newspaper's policy.

• Letters containing hearsay, rumors, personal attacks, name-calling or anything that could be considered defamation, slander or libel will not be published.

- Defamation: A false statement that is communicated to another person, damaging their reputation or livelihood. The statement must be presented as fact, not opinion.

- Libel: A written or pictorial form of defamation, such as a text story, cartoon, or blog post.

- Slander: An oral or spoken form of defamation, such as a speech or lecture.
