Ashley Martin, board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC), has joined Blessing Health System and is accepting appointments at Blessing’s Macomb Clinic, 437 E. Grant St.
Before joining Blessing, Martin saw patients as part of the Lakeview Medical & Psychiatric Healthcare team in Macomb. A McDonough County native, she is a graduate of the post-master's psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program of the University of St. Francis in Joliet; and holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Western Illinois University.
'I appreciate the close-knit feel of rural communities and enjoys being part of that connection through my work in mental health. My goal with each patient is to create a space where they feel comfortable sharing their stories, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the factors influencing my patients’ wellbeing,' Martin said. 'It can be challenging to ask for help for mental health, but it is just as important as seeing any other health care professional. That’s why I take time to listen to each individual and identify what they need from me, to provide compassionate and holistic care.'
