Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony at the MMS Last Friday at the MMS we had the Olympics. Each class was a country and mine was South Korea. In the Olympic games each class/country got to participate in winter games, and there were winners, too. The winners got either a bronze, silver, or gold medal, and after they won the national anthem played of the winner’s country. Overall, the Olympics were pretty entertaining to watch and it seemed fun. Kandice R.

The team I represented was Switzerland. It was fun.

We got second place at one of the events. It was fun to watch it to see who won. It was fun watching people compete against each other.

Overall, I thought it was fun.

The country I represented was Switzerland.

I learned that they have unique food and places to see. What I enjoyed was learning about Switzerland overall and learning about a culture different from ours.

I am pleased to learn about another country and culture.

I represented the country Switzerland. I enjoyed being able to sit by my friends while cheering for my country on the court. At the end of the ceremony, I liked trivia.

The country I represented was China. I liked how we did Olympic activities and how they got medals if they won the Olympic game that they were participating in. It was really fun to support a country and learn about it a little at they Olympics.

The country I represent was Great Britain. Before we went into the gym we got to watch a short clip of an Olympian talking about how he is a teacher for track at Western Illinois University which is here in Macomb, Illinois. And he also was representing Great Britan. Braelyn M.

My country that I represented was Great Britian. I really enjoyed this because my team did really well! I

learned that there was an Olympian representing Great Britian that was in Macomb. I also learned that Great Britian was home to many famous people including Queen Elizabeth. I had a really great time during the Olympics. Zoey D.

My S.O.A.R class represented Switzerland and got a silver medal. Many people participated in the events and the events were creative. The events were based on real events. It was very fun and entertaining. I think we should do more things like it. Jensen S.

I enjoyed seeing my friend with a medal for second place. I thought it was awesome to see my friend with the silver medal, even if it wasn’t official one. It was second place and that is impressive. He was the only 7th grader who won a medal for speed skating.

Ayden A.

My country for the winter Olympics was South Korea. I liked that we were able to have a competition between grades. Overall Friday was super fun. After the Olympics we had movies and scavenger hunts to finish the day. Gace L.
