Host Lewistown grabbed an early lead and never let go in rolling to a 62-17 win over Bushnell-Prairie City in high school girls basketball action Monday evening.
Lewistown improved to 14-11 on the season, while B-PC dropped to 3-18.
The Indians led 12-8 after the first period before seizing control in the second quarter.
Six different players combined for 21 points as the Indians outscored the Spartans 21-2 in taking a 33-10 halftime lead.
Lewistown then added 18 points in the third frame, holding B-PC to just a Kendyl McCleery free throw.
That resulted in the Indians leading 51-11 heading into the final eight minutes.
McCleery topped B-PC with seven points. Scarlett Country added five points for the Spartans, all in the fourth period, followed by Jersey Jones with three and Justice Klinedinst with two.
Lewistown had 11 players score, led by Joley McLaughlin’s 16 points.
Carsyn Braun also reached double figures for the Indians, scoring 12 points. Addison Roddis and Josie Grzanich chipped in eight points apiece for the victors.
The two teams also played a modified JV contest consisting of one 20-minute half with a running clock.
Lewistown ended up on top 17-8. The Spartans returned to the road Thursday, heading to Peoria Heights to face the Patriots (0-28).
The two teams played each other Dec. 29 at the Princeville Holiday Tournament with B-PC winning 41-37.
The Spartans have two games next week in wrapping up the regular season.
On Feb. 9, the Spartans will face West Prairie/Southeastern at Augusta.
The two teams played in Bushnell on Jan. 20 ith the visiting Cyclones winning 61-31.
B-PC, 0-4 in Prairieland Conference South Division play, wraps up the regular season Feb. 11, hosting South Fulton (4-17, 0-3 Prairieland South).
The game was originally scheduled for Jan. 26, but postponed due to wintry weather.
