Community Calendar:

Blandinsville 

- TUESDAYS: After School Program at the Blandinsville First Christian Church for Kindergarten through High School students from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

- SATURDAYS: Life Skills Program at the Blandinsville First Christian Church for 5th grade through High School students from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on the third Saturday of each month.

- SATURDAYS: Story Hour and Crafts on Saturdays at The Blandinsville-Hire Library at 10 AM. Snacks will be available. Check out the many new kids and young adult books. Spend some time at the library and take a book home to read!

- SUNDAYS: Youth Group at the Blandinsville First Christian Church for 5th grade through High School students from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Bushnell

- WEDNESDAYS BEGINNING FEB. 4: Story time at the Bushnell library each Wednesday from 2:30-3:30 at the Bushnell Public Library. We will have snacks, story, crafts, and playtime.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: Bushnell VFW Breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m at the Post 1422 Hall located at 181 E. Hail. They provide on-site, takeout, and curb service - for takeout and curb service please call 309-333-9919. They are serving biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, hash browns, pancakes and french toast. Mark your calendar, we hope to see you there.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: ‘70’s Music Trivia - Break out those bell-bottoms for 1970’s Music Trivia at the Bushnell VFW. Proceeds benefit the BPC High School Spartan Baseball team. Teams of up to 10 people $10 per person, Calendar Mulligans available. For ages 21+. Food will be available.

Colchester

- 4TH THURSDAY OF MONTH: New Illinois meetings at 7pm at the Colchester Lions Club.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: Twigs, Buds and Bark: Winter Tree ID Hike Budding naturalists of any age are welcome to come and learn some tips for identifying trees in winter at the Argyle Lake State Park visitor center from 10-11:30am. After a brief indoor discussion, participants will venture outdoors to practice their skills in the campground and along the woodland edge at Argyle while enjoying the winter scenery. Macomb

- THURSDAY, FEB. 5: Environmentally Concerned Citizens meet at 7 pm: WIU Dr. Everett Hamner will speak on “Global Weirdness and Local Impacts” at the Environmentally Concerned Citizens meeting in the Macomb City Hall Community Room, 232 East Jackson Street, Macomb. Everyone is invited.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: Indoor Winter Farmers Market held from 8:30 to Noon in the American Legion Hall (on E. Washington,behind the Post Office). Shop for fresh local produce; homemade baked goods; local honey & jam; readyto- eat meals & snacks; locally made personal care products; hand-crafted goods made by local artisans & artists; on-site knife-sharpening; and more! (Next month's Winter Market will be held on March 7th.)

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: Macomb Library Knitting Club Meets on the first Saturday of the month at 10:30am. Share your love of knitting or crocheting with both experienced and beginner crafters. Meet fellow knitters, brush up on skills and learn new techniques. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own projects. All levels of experience are welcome.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: Friends of the Library Specialty Book Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Library Annex, at 109 E. Jefferson St. This specialty sale features fiction, mystery/action adventure, science fiction/fantasy, and classics plus media and all of the oversized books (cook books, art, history/biography, non fiction, etc. You also can also bring book donation for future sales at this time. Proceeds are invested in the Macomb Public Library.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: MEF Dueling Pianos Howl2Go Fundraiser to support grants that directly support our local schools. Come and support your local teachers and schools with a fun night of Dueling Pianos from 6-9pm at Park Place in Macomb. Doors open at 5pm. Cost is $300/table of 8. 

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7: Rock N’ Roll Bingo After Prom Fundraiser Come and support the Macomb High After Prom with Rock N’ Roll Bingo at the Macomb VFW at 6:30pm, doors open at 6pm. Cost is $15/person, cash bar, 50/50 raffle and dessert auction. All proceeds go to help provide a safe and memorable after prom for Macomb High.

- SATURDAY, FEB. 7 & SUNDAY, FEB. 8: Annual WIU Ag Mech Club’s Farm Expo the largest student-run agricultural event in the country at Western Hall on Saturday 9am-4pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 11 MPD “Get Hooked” crochet session from 4:30-6:30pm at the Park District Ceramics Studio located at 1406 N. Randolph. All yarn, crochet hooks, and darning needles are included in the registration fee although participants are welcome to bring their own. Ages 14 and up, pre-registration is required. $15 for residents, $18 for non-residents. SATURDAY, FEB. 14 Build Your Own Candy Kabob at Hy-Vee Build Your Own Candy Kabob at Hy-Vee in Macomb from 10am-1pm. Sweeten your Valentine’s Day with a hands-on candy experience! Mix, match, and stack your favorite Valentine’s gummies onto a skewer to create the ultimate candy kabob. Perfect for kids, families, and anyone with a sweet tooth. Don’t miss this fun Valentine’s Day treat!
