The Macomb High softball squad defeated visiting Brown County 17-2 in four innings Thursday afternoon at the MHS softball field.
The Bombers improved to 9-18 on the season, while Brown County dropped to 6-22.
The contest was originally scheduled to be played on Mar. 19, but was postponed due to the weather.
MHS scored in all four innings it batted. Macomb scored four times in the first inning before adding single tallies in the second and third innings in building a 6-0 lead.
Brown County scored twice in the top of the first before the Bombers responded by chalking up 11 runs in the bottom of the frame to end the contest via run-rule.
Macomb out-hit Brown County 15-4 with the Bombers committing two errors, compared to five for the Hornets.
Kendyl Danner singled, doubled and tripled, scoring three runs while knocking in five more for Macomb.
Jordyn Shoopman, had two hits, including a triple, with two runs batted in, while Lauren Schmalshof and Josie Elbe added doubles.
Olivia Whitney had two hits and scored three times, while Lauren Bishop also had two hits, scoring twice.
Schmalshof, Elbe and Nika Daytner also scored two runs apiece.
In the circle, Danner allowed two runs, zero earned, on four hits. She struck out five and walked one. Danner threw 54 pitches, 40 for strikes.
Riley Buss had two hits and a run batted in for Brown County.
Buss pitched three-plus innings, allowing 17 runs, 16 earned, on 14 hits. She struck out three, walked six and hit two batters.
Josie Ham pitched to one batter, allowing one hit.

The two teams played on May 12 at Carthage with the Bombers winning 1-0.
Monday’s winner will face topseeded Williamsville (17-13) in Wednesday’s 4 p.m. semifinal at Carthage.
The second semifinal on Wednesday at Carthage will see Beardstown (18-10) facing West Hancock (1113).
The title contest is slated for Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Carthage.
