The GFWC Macomb Woman’s Club would like to thank the Macomb community for its generosity at its annual Make a Difference Day, held each year at the Macomb Hy-Vee. This is an event to collect items and/or cash donations for both the Samaritan Well, a shelter for those experiencing homelessness, and the McDonough County Animal Shelter. On Saturday, January 17, a group of Club volunteers collected over $1000 worth of items and over $450 in cash donations to support the mission of the Samaritan Well. Additionally, and including a very generous corporate donation from Hy-Vee of 38 bags of dog food, over $1450 in needed items and $591 in cash were donated to support the Animal Shelter. This will go along way to assist as each organization continues to provide a service in our community.
Also, thank you to Hy-Vee Manager Kevin Scharping for the opportunity to locate in the store entry way and the Hy-Vee staff for their support as we utilized carts and took up quite a bit of space as we spread out in our collecting.
Again, thank you to all who donated. All of you who contributed definitely did your part to “make a difference” in our community!
