74, of Good Hope
Ronald D. Young, Jr., 74, of Good Hope, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 5:10 a.m., Tuesday January 20, 2026 at the Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. He was born June 26, 1951 in Macomb, Illinois, to Ronald Dean and Martha (Lewis) Young Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Young of Macomb; sister, Catherine (Michael) Murphy; and brother, Steven (Jody) Young both of Macomb, Illinois; nieces Sarah (Rusty) Murphy – Melhouse, Rachel Murphy; nephew Patrick Murphy; great-niece Maeve Melhouse; and greatnephew Roric Melhouse.
He was a 1970 graduate of Macomb High School and worked at Sodexo at WIU until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Good Hope United Methodist Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Good Hope United Methodist Church.
