Local artist Jan Rockwell will present the Prairie Land Conservancy (PLC)'s 'Art Talk' Feb. 4 at The Wine Sellers in Macomb.
Through 'Land as Inspiration', Rockwell, who is well-known for her landscape paintings of the Midwest, will share her experiences living in a rural area that have impacted her art.
'Art Talk' will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., and the $25/person ticket provides attendees with one free drink and light appetizers and helps to support PLC's local conservation efforts. Twenty-four tickets are available at prairielandconservancy.org/events or by calling (309) 833-4747 to reserve a seat and pay at the door.
'There is a long history of nature art and conservation influencing each other, from art being used in court to bring about conservation legislation to scientists cataloguing new species in their nature journals, ' said PLC program coordinator Jaime Webb. 'It's also just a great way many of us as individuals can connect with nature.”
