Sophie Wilson, the daughter of Ryan and Beate Wilson, has been named the MidAmerica National Bank Senior of the Month for January 2026. Sophie is very involved at school; she participates in many different sports including volleyball, basketball, golf, and soccer. Sophie is also a member of the National Honors Society, student council, and Macomb Youth Leadership Program (MYLO). Throughout her high school career, she has earned many awards including being on the high honor roll and being chosen as the Vice President of the Class of 2026.
Community involvement is also very important to Sophie. She volunteered at the Mobile Foods Collaborative, the YMCA, and many basketball camps. Sophie has also helped during Mrs. Dunseth’s summer schooling, volunteered at College for Kids’, and facilitated a youth-adventure camp. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and playing games, such as pickleball and telestrations. She also enjoys playing golf with her family. Sophie currently works at The Newman Center and during the summer she mows yards as well as babysitting.
Following graduation, Sophie plans to attend a 4-year university to pursue a degree in health science, afterwards she will apply to Physician’s Assistant school. As the January Senior of the Month, Sophie was presented a cash award of $100.00 and is eligible for the Senior of the Year Award in May 2026.
