The Macomb High boys swim team headed to Peoria on Jan. 14 for meet action against Peoria Manual.
The Rams had just three swimmers as the Bombers posted the lop-sided victory.
Results for the Bombers included the following:
200-yard medley relay - MHS “A” (Owen Haley, Alaric Gordon, Reed Lytle and Luke Wu), first, two minutes, 21.37 seconds and MHS “B” (Gavin Douglas, Landon Richards, Marc Simmons and Austin Ortiz), second, 2:44.73.
200 freestyle - Jacob McGath, first, 2:25.16; Jairon Royer, second, 2:26.28 and Ray Phillips, third, 2:50.09.
200 individual medley - Douglas, first, 3:03.71; Wu, second, 3:13.89 and Simmons, third, 3:32.73.
50 freestyle - Lytle, first, 28.65; Haley, second, 30.47 and Bentley Rutledge, fifth, 1:08.65.
100 butterfly - Jaydn Glaue, first, 1:11.69; Gordon, second,

200 freestyle relay - MHS “A” (Phillips, McGath, Haley and Glaue), first, 1:59.96 and MHS “B” (Royer, Rutledge Simmons and Richards), second, 2:58.85.
100 backstroke - Lytle, first, 1:15.34; Glaue, second,
1:16.75 and Haley, third, 1:18.48.
100 breaststroke - Richards, first, 1:35.74 and Simmons, second, 1:37.07.
400 freestyle relay - MHS “A” (Royer, Gordon, Glaue and Lytle), first, 4;25.03 and MHS “B” (Phillips, McGath, Wu and Douglas), second, 4:44.72.
“The swimmers all started in the water, so that explosiveness they get from the starts wasn’t there,” said MHS assistant coach Tonya Hamer. “That said, we still had some time drops.”
“The other team was limping along with only three swimmers, so it wasn’t a significant win. But I’m proud of several of them for swimming non-dominant events or even new events for the first time,” she added.
