Three members of the Macomb High wrestling team brought home top six finishes from Saturday’s Canton Invitational held at Alice Ingersoll Gym.
At 190 pounds, Avery Lundgren finished third. She received a pair of byes in reaching the semifinals where she was defeated by Richwoods wrestler Marley Clark by pinfall in three minutes and 52 seconds.
With just five wrestlers in the division, Lundgren claimed third place.
At 145 pounds, Dru Hyde claimed fourth place. In her quarterfinal round match, Hyde pinned Washington’s Paytyn Dyles in 5:09.
In the semifinals, Hyde was pinned by Olympia’s Leah Brammeier in 4:51.
In the third place match, Hyde was pinned by East Peoria’s Taylor Sutton in 5:04.
In the 235 pound division Jazmyn Nateras posted a 1-2 record to finish in sixth place.
Nateras was defeated by East Peoria’s Bella Spampanato by an 11-0 major decision in her first bout.
She won her next match, pinning PORTA’s Jessalin Kukert at 4:00.
Nateras dropped her final match of the day as she was pinned by Jacksonville’s Emily Sanders in 3:20.
Dana Kane also wrestled for the Bombers Saturday in the 140-pound division.
Kane dropped both of her matches as she was pinned by ROWVA/Williamsfield’s Alivia Stokes in 1:36 and Dwight’s Adilynn Avilez in 0:18.
The Bombers are scheduled to host Rock Island High and PORTA on Jan. 27.
