The West Prairie/Southeastern high school girls basketball team was defeated by state-ranked West Hancock 63-20 Thursday evening at Hamilton.
West Hancock (18-2), currently ranked No. 9 in Class 2A by the Associated Press, raced out to a 23-5 lead after the opening eight minutes on the way to building a 41-9 halftime advantage.
The Titans led 57-17 entering the final period.
West Prairie/Southeastern (12-10) sophomore Payton McGraw led the Cyclones with eight points.
Emily Martin added four points, followed by Madelynn Sullivan and Maicyn Shipman with three points each.
Josie Hodges closed out the Cyclone scoring with two points.
West Hancock junior Grace Grothaus scored a team-high 14 points, while freshman Maci Haas added 12 points for the Titans.
A total of 11 players scored for West Hancock.
The Cyclones (0-1 Prairieland South) will head to Bushnell for a Prairieland South Division contest against Bushnell- Prairie City (3-15, 0-2) on Jan. 20 before hosting Macomb (12-9, 1-1 Prairieland South) on Jan. 22.
