Rosemary Marie Sims, 80, of Macomb
Rosemary Marie Sims, 80, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away on January 14, 2026 at the Elms Nursing Home. She was born on September 3, 1945, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Ralph and Maxine (Martin) Cravens. She married Dennis Bruce Sims on February 17, 1962, at her parents’ home in Macomb, Illinois, and he survives.
Also surviving are her son, Bruce (Kimberly) Sims of Macomb; two granddaughters, Brandi (Greg) Schonauer and Brooke Sims; two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Fugate; five great-grandchildren, Easton, Asher, and Bentley Schonauer, Heaven Wyllie, and step-great-granddaughter Lily Fugate; as well as several nieces and a nephew.
Rosemary was employed at Haeger Pottery for more than 24 years. She took great pride in her home and loved working outdoors, always keeping everything neatly manicured. Rosemary and Dennis shared a love of travel, especially cruises, having enjoyed 28 cruises together over the years. She found joy in the simple things in life, most of all spending time with her family and close friends.
She shared a special bond with her cousin, Sally Heathcoat, and her nieces, Angela Jackson and Christy Sims. Rosemary also had a special place in her heart for dogs, especially her beloved Yorkies, Molly and Dolly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jeanette Connelly; and her twin brothers, Larry and Gary Cravens.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 23, 2026 at Oakwood Cemetery, with Reverend Jim Eddy officiating.
