80, of Blandinsville

Mary Kathryn “Katie” Icenogle, 80, of Blandinsville passed away peacefully at her home on 7:52 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026. Also on this day, 61 years ago, her first son was born, Douglas who passed away when he was just a few hours old She was born on February 9, 1945 to Harry Wendell and Annalea Heffner Coakley. She married William Dennis Icenogle on April 5, 1969 in Blandinsville. He passed away on November 19, 2023.

She was also preceded in death by her father and one son, Douglas Edward Matthews.

Kathryn is survived by her mother, Annalea Coakley, her children, Cheryl Ann Campbell of Blandinsville, Wendell Eugene (Michelle Nichole) Icenogle of Industry, Robin Denise (Richard) Shinall of Brownsburg, Indiana and William Eric (Lynda) Icenogle of Blandinsville and a bonus son, Xavier Huon of France; thirteen grandchildren, Christy, Kelsey, Benjamin, Kayla, Sable, Danielle, Austin, Cody, Caylea, Aftyne, Allison, Jayme, Easton, Colton as well as ten great-grandchildren, Graiclyn, Warren, Emma, Kinslee, Kamden, Alan, Braelynn, Roman, Winnie, and Baby Boy Ferrel due in June 2026 She is also survived by one sister, Ruthanne (Coakley) Dildine, one brother -in-law, Eldon Icenogle, three sistersin- law, Debra Bordenkircher, Barbara (Roger) Bailey, and Shelly (Hank) Petery, and one very dear friend, Ruthann Floyd..

She has lived in Blandinsville since 1981. She worked as a Head Cook at Northwestern Grade School for several years. For all that knew her, she was the most extraordinary cook. From homemade cookies for all the local kids for Halloween, to baking her famous pies, her chocolate chip cookies, and cream cheese mints. Her grandchildren will always remember amazing beef and noodles that they would fight each other in line to get. She also loved attending the Blandinsville Christian Church.

She took pride in gardening, canning, and preserving just about any type of food, and taught all of her kids and grandkids these thing also. There was never a summer you wouldn’t find her out in the garden with Dennis or her children and grandchildren.

To know Katie was to love her. She will be remembered most for her kind heart and her willingness to help anyone in need. She was a true matriarch, and a pillar of strength for her family. One phone call from her would just make everything better. She was a true angel on earth, and she will forever be remembered as such.

She will be laid to rest with her son, Douglas Edward Matthews Icenogle, in her arms Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville with Pastor Aaron Baker officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the Industry Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be made to Blandinsville-Hire Fire and Rescue as well as the Blandinsville Christian Church.
