It is a whirlwind week for the young cast of Hercules, to be presented at The Legacy Theater in Carthage at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 and again at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17.
Elementary through high school-aged students from the area auditioned for parts in the show Monday after school.
The cast was announced, and actors started learning their parts that same evening. Rehearsals continue each night, preparing for two performances on this weekend.
The show is directed by Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) from Montana. This is their third production at The Legacy Theater, casting, rehearsing and presenting their show all in one week. The MCT touring production team comes complete with all the costumes, scenery, and props.
Assistant directors are Ethan Clark and Kara Kohlmorgan. Leading the cast are Brigham Nelson as Hercules, Avery Stephenson as Androcles, Rowan Hall as Homer, Kennedy McKeown as Archimedes, Mariah Dixon as Socrates, Emily Dixon as Aristotle, Amelia Myers as Zeus, Winter Washburn as Helen of Troy, Evelyn Hall as Hera, Ellie Whitaker as Pegasus, Gemma Savage as The Lion.
Cast as the Cyclopes team are Sawyer Cole, Lydia Myers, Lydia Zanolla. The Titans are Karly Knight, Kase Myers, Maggie Stephenson. The Olympians are Isaac Dixon, Harker Hardy, Veronica Huffman, Harper Gray, Katherine Myers, Taylor, Nora Winkler.
For these shows, a child ticket (up through age 12) is only $10. Adult tickets are $20.
