McDonough County Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout has issued the following update regarding the arrests Dustin B. Frese, 42, of Bryant, IL, Shona M. Ramey, 31, of Canton, IL and Jordan D. Coulter, 34, of Ipava, IL.
Over the past week, several storage units have been burglarized in McDonough and Fulton County. Deputies responded to a burglary at a residence in rural Adair on January 5, 2026, near the Fulton County Line. Several items were stolen from the property to include tools and a chainsaw.
On January 6, 2026, Deputies responded to a theft and criminal damage at 8605 East 2250th in rural Adair, IL. This location was near the previous burglary. Workers at the West Central FS reported that two of their company vehicles had holes drilled into the gas tanks and the fuel was removed.
On January 7, 2026, at approximately 8:46 p.m. a McDonough County Night Patrol Deputy stopped a red 2006 Dodge Ram belonging to Dustin B. Frese, 42, of Bryant, IL. Driving the vehicle was Shona M. Ramey, 31, of Canton, IL and Jordan D. Coulter, 34, of Ipava, IL was present in the vehicle along with the owner Frese.
An investigation was conducted after deputies noticed many tools and a chainsaw in the bed of the pick-up truck. Dustin B. Fese, had a Failure to Appear Warrant out of Fulton County. He was arrested and transported to the McDonough County Jail. The vehicle, filled with suspected stolen property was towed and impounded by deputies.
During the custodial interview process, Coulter and Frese admitted to burglaries in McDonough and Fulton Counties. Coulter, Frese, and Ramey were charged with the following crimes.
Jordan D. Coulter, 34, of Ipava, IL is charged with five counts of Burglary, three counts of Criminal Damage to property, and one count of Theft Over $500.00.
Dustin B. Frese, 42, of Bryant, IL is charged with five counts of Burglary, three counts of Criminal Damage to property, and one count of Theft Over $500.00.
Shona M. Ramey is charged with driving while license suspended or revoked.
All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
