To the editor:
A young woman, a mother of three, has just been shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. In what seems like another lifetime, a responsible administration would express regret; and before casting blame or hurling accusations, would express regret and announce an investigation. Not so this administration. Our knee jerk president immediately commented. “She behaved horribly. And then she viciously ran him over. She didn’t try to run him over. She ran him over.” The vice president unsurprisingly concurred. “An attack on federal law enforcement.” And let’s not exclude our Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. “An act of domestic terrorism.”
Now I don’t know about you, but I have seen things (and animals) get run over by cars. And I don’t care how you slice it. Ms. Renee Goode did NOT run over anyone.
We are being told that what we see with our own eyes is actually not what we see at all!
We are being told that Sen. Mark Kelly, veteran pilot, astronaut and husband of Gabby Gifford (who was severely wounded in an attempted political assassination) is a traitor for simply reminding all U.S. servicemen and servicewomen of their sworn duty to follow only legal orders.
We are told that the Jan. 6, 2020 Capitol Riot was a peaceful demonstration, and that the convicted protesters who desecrated our national Capitol and attacked the guardians of that hallowed building are patriots.
I’m sorry. I don’t care who you are, or who you THINK you are. You’re not going tell me what my eyes see. You’re not going tell me that Russia is our friend, and Europe and Canada are our enemies. You’re not going tell me that Greenland belongs in the Gulf of America. You’re NOT going tell me that the poor and struggling majority in this country are suckers and losers, and that you and your billionaire friends know so much better than me that treating our neighbors with friendship and compassion is what you now refer to as “WOKE.”
This madness must stop before the damage is irreparable. Trump, Vance, Noem, Hegseth, Mary Miller, and their millionaire and billionaire buddies are not going to tell this American what I’m supposed to see. I’ll be standing with my true American friends in Chandler Park every Saturday at noon until this nightmare ends.
