Neva Ann Doty, 87, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Great River Hospice House.
She was born January 27, 1938, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Irene (Luster) Westerhold. Neva married Fred Harold Doty on February 17, 1973, in Macomb, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2017.
Survivors include her two children, Nichole (Darren Morris) Doty of Hamilton, Illinois, and Robert (Rhonda) Doty of Fort Madison, Iowa; one granddaughter, Mercedee (Jayde Fernandez) Doty of Tucson, Arizona; her sister, Wilma (Jerry) Payne of Industry, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Abbie Berg of Ames, Iowa, and Brandon (Savana) West of Abingdon, Illinois; step-great-grandchildren, Freya and Madi West; her loyal companion, Dolly, her beloved cat; along with several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and even a few great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her nephew, Jody Payne.
Neva was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cross-stitch ing. She loved camping with family and friends, reading a good mystery, working in coloring books, and could name nearly every actor from her favorite television shows. She especially enjoyed old Westerns and cooking shows, and was a devoted fan of Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman, and her cook books.
