The Bushnell-Prairie City High School boys basketball team was defeated by host Galva 74-45 in a non-conference contest Wednesday evening.
Galva improved to 7-4 on the season, while B-PC slipped to 1-7.
The Wildcats outscored the Spartans in each of the opening three quarters.
Galva led 23-18 after the opening eight minutes before dominating the middle two periods.
It outscored the visitors 22-10 in the second frame to build a 45-28 halftime lead. The Wildcats did the same thing in the third quarter in upping their advantage to 67-38 heading into the final stanza.
B-PC had three players in double figures, led by Connor Palm’s 16 points.
Braylon Griffitts added 11 and De’Arion Ruffin- Thomas 10 for the Spartans. John Malda added a three-pointer, while Dylan King chipped in two points and Christian Graybill a free throw to close out the Spartan scoring.
Griffitts also recorded a team-leading eight rebounds, while Palm and King added five rebounds apiece.
Griffitts also recorded four assists and five steals. Ruffin-Thomas and King had two assists each, while Palm also added two steals.
JP Sloan topped Galva with 23 points, while Jay Smith added 15 and MJ Louck 11 for the Wildcats. The trio also combined for 14 assists and seven steals.
Reid Harris added eight points and team-leading 12 rebounds for Galva.
Galva also won the JV contest, recording a 50-27 victory.
The Spartans were scheduled to return to action Thursday, hosting ROWVA/ Williamsfield in a game that was originally scheduled for Dec. 12, but postponed.
On Saturday, the Spartans head to Hartsburg for a non-conference contest against Hartsburg-Emden in their final game before the holidays.
