Five members of the Macomb High cross country teams received recognition in being selected to the 2025 Tri-State Cross Country Coaches All-Area Teams.
On the girls side, freshman Ella McKee was named to the first team.
McKee had the most impressive freshman season for the area this season.
McKee won the Macomb Early Bird to start the season and later won the Prairieland Conference title as well.
She would finish sixth in Regional and 18th in Sectional to send her to the IHSA Class 2A State meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
At state, McKee matched her personal record for three miles, finishing in a time of 18 minutes, 53.2 seconds placing 85th overall.
In addition to McKee, Bomber freshman Allexis Gray was an honorable mention selection.
For the boys, junior Alex Simmons was named to first team after receiving honorable mention accolades last year as a sophomore.
Simmons started the season off with a win at the Macomb Early Bird Invitational and would add three more top 10 finishes to his season accomplishments.
The season ended at the IHSA Class 2A State meet where Simmons ran a PR of 15:53.
Two other Bombers in freshmen Landon Richards and Jackson Petitgout were honorable mention selections.
