McDonough County CEO Class Hosts Holiday Drive-in Movie Weekend

The McDonough County CEO Class of 2026 will host 'A December to Remember,' a two-night drive-in movie event Dec. 19-20 at 1300 Maple Ave. in Macomb.

Tickets cost $25 per car when purchased in advance at https://buytickets. at/mcdonoughcountyceo/ 1960814. The cost is $30 per car for tickets purchased at the lot.

Friday's lineup includes 'Elf' at 5:15 p.m. and 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' at 8 p.m. Saturday features 'The Polar Express' at 5:15 p.m. and 'It's a Wonderful Life' at 8 p.m.

The CEO learning environment has two culminating experiences for students: a class business and an individual business.

The drive-in serves as the CEO class's annual business project. Previous class businesses have included vendor fairs, escape rooms and battle-of-the-bands contests.

CEO meets each school day from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in local businesses. Students visit companies throughout the community and hear from guest speakers. The program challenges students to become communicators, networkers, problem solvers and creative thinkers.

'McDonough CEO is not a business class,' said Ketra Roselieb, McDonough CEO board chair and vice president for finance and administration at Western Illinois University. 'It's a transformational learning course that offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn about their community, discover their entrepreneurial skills, and develop valuable interpersonal skills.'

The program serves students from Bushnell-Prairie City, Macomb, West Prairie and Trinity Academy. In spring, students will present individual business projects at a community trade show on May 5 at Spoon River College from 5-7 p.m.
