The West Prairie High School varsity boys basketball team saw its four-game win streak snapped Friday night at Cuba as the Cyclones lost to North Fulton 50-38.
The Cyclones slipped to 5-4 on the season, while the host Wildcats improved to 5-2.
North Fulton used a 10-0 run that bridged the first and second quarters in building a 17-6 lead.
West Prairie answered by outscoring the Wildcats 11-7 the remainder of the period to close the deficit to 24-17 at halftime.
The visitors outscored North Fulton 8-5 in the third period, inching within 29-25 entering the final eight minutes.
The final eight minutes saw Connor Munson and Brody Thum combine for all 21 North Fulton points as the Wildcats seized control down the stretch on the way to the win.
Braden Coplan topped West Prairie with nine points. Holden Coplan and Ryan Clark added seven points each, followed by Eli DeCounter with six points.
Matt Whitman chipped in four points, followed by Ivan Beck with three and Brody Cordell with two.
Munson and Thum topped North Fulton with 16 and 15 points respectively. Kolby Cleer added eight for the Wildcats.
The JV contest saw West Prairie grab an early lead on the way to posting a 47-36 win.
The Cyclones led 14-8 after the opening eight minutes on the way to enjoying a 23-14 halftime advantage.
The Wildcats inched within 35-28 entering the final stanza. But the Cyclones outscored the hosts 12-8 to maintain control.
Gannon Shipman topped West Prairie with 16 points. Holden Coplan and Beck were next with nine points apiece, followed by Ayden Lacey with eight points.
Mason Whitman chipped in three points and Tyson Carnes two for the Cyclones.
The varsity squad was set to begin action at the United Tournament Saturday, but those contests were postponed by weather.
The team is slated to face West Central today and Knoxville on Wednesday in tournament action.
