Members of the Macomb High girls wrestling team took part in The Munch Invitational held Friday at Pontiac.
Bomber Avery Lundgren posted a 3-1 record in finishing second in the 190-pound division, earning 12 points,.
Lundgren pinned Kankakee Senior’s Sofia Perez in one minute and 28 seconds in winning her first match.
She then pinned Manual’s Zanasia Simmons in 0:55 in the quarterfinals before pinning Charleston’s Alexus Dodge in 0:48 in the semifinals.
In the title match, Lundgren was pinned by Victoria White of Edwardsville in 1:52.
At 145 pounds, Drew Hyde lost her opening match, but bounced back with three victories, earning fifth place and five team points.
Hyde opened competition by dropping a 15-6 major decision to Mahomet-Seymour’s Diem Bryan.
Hyde responded with a 17-1 technical fall win over St. Joseph-Ogden’s Taylor Vaughn in 3:08.
She defeated Heyworth’s Cali Fulcher by a 1-0 decision before pinning Canton’s Kennedy Smith in 3:56 to wrap up fifth place honors.

At 110 pounds, Havelarene Simion posted a record of 1-2.
Simion lst her first bout to Alexia Glover of the PORTA coop by pinball in 1:57.
She defeated Ava Murray of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by painful in 1:22 before getting pinned by Morton Cicero’s Karla Munoz in 2:13.
At 125 pounds, Maria Hernandez won twice and lost twice on the day.
She opened competition by pinning Naperville Central’s Claire Plackett in 2:40 and Streator’s Olivia Wheeler in 1:56.
But Hernandez dropped her final two matches, as she was pinned by Kankakee Senior’s Taniyah Sherman in 0:48 and Geneseo’s Ayla Schultz in 0:44.
At 155 pounds, Megan Redding posted a 2-2 record.
After receiving a bye, Redding defeated Chloe Greenberg of Naperville Central by pinball in 4:31.
Redding lost her next match as she was pinned by Mahomet-Seymour’s Jaycee Weitekamp in 1:08. She regrouped to pin Edwardsville’s Abigail Hayes in 3:38 before getting pinned by Clinton’s Marlly Alejandro in 3:44.
At 170 pounds, Aleigha Sharon was defeated in both of her matches after receiving an opening-round bye.
Sharon lost to Pekin’s Piper Lambert by pinfall in 0:54 before getting pinned by Urbana’s Evelyn Hernandez in 0:55.
At 140 pounds, Dana Kane was winless in her two matches after receiving an opening- round bye.
Kane was pinned by University High’s Hailey Watson in 0:12 before dropping a 7-3 decision to Pontiac’s Sophia Brannan.
Finally at 235 pounds, Jazmyn Nateras finished 0-2 after receiving an opening- round bye.
She was pinned by Charleston’s Olivia Rosine in 0:52 and Edwardsville’s Kennedy Downs in 1:12.
