
William Tracy Stephens, 79 of Macomb, IL passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1946, in Rushville, IL the son of Harold “Bub” Stephens and Donna Dace Stephens. He married Diana Stansfield in Jacksonville, IL on May 12, 1968. She survives along with (1) son Michael Stephens (Dana) of Washington, IL; (1) daughter Jennifer Stephens of McAllen, TX; (3) grandsons, Dirk, Jacob, and Carter; (2) sisters, Nancy Stephens of Scottsdale, AZ and Julie Murray (Susan) of Rolla, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and paternal grandparents, Carter and Madeline Settles Stephens and maternal grandparents Daniel and Edna Walker Dace. Bill graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1964. He graduated from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL. He was a chiropractor and practiced in Macomb, IL from 1971 to 2007. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He completed his basic training at Fort Benning, GA and was assigned to Fort Sam Houston, TX and spent a year at West Point as a Xray Technician. He was a member of the Macomb Elks and American Legion. He loved woodworking and, with his wife, they built and designed their Macomb home. He restored an MGB sports car. Bill also loved water skiing, bicycling, scuba diving, snow skiing and enjoyed boating. Bill was a marathon runner, triathlete, and competed in the National Senior Games since 1999. He enjoyed taking boat trips on the river and even followed Lewis and Clark’s path on the Missouri River.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Presbyterian Church with Mr.
Ken Runkle. Interment will be at Rushville City Cemetery.
