Save the Date: Humane Society Casino Night – Calling All Sponsors & Dealers
Mark your calendar for the 2026 Casino Night, hosted by the Humane Society of McDonough County.
The fourth annual evening of fun is set for March 7, 2026 at Park Place of Macomb. Event sponsorships are available, including Royal Flush (contact Event Co-Chair Kathy Waters for package information); Straight Flush ($2,500); Full House (table sponsor, $1,500, three available); Flush ($1,000 gaming table sponsor, 15 available); Straight ($500, six-eight available), and Pair ($250, unlimited availability). 'We are so close to breaking ground on the new shelter that is so desperately needed,' Waters said. 'This is a fun way to help us make the new shelter a reality.'
In addition to sponsors, the event is in need of volunteer dealers: blackjack, poker, roulette and craps. Required criteria include some knowledge of the game; a friendly, entertaining personality, and a commitment to work an 80-minute shift. Free admission is provided to volunteers.
Tickets will go on sale after the first of the year. All proceeds from the event go toward the construction of a new animal shelter building. The City of Macomb has leased land to the HSMC just east of the shelter on Tower Road for the new shelter. There is currently over $1 million in the building campaign fund, and according to HSMC President Bonnie Smith-Skripps, the group anticipates needing at least $500,000 to complete the project.
