Capital Power Donates To Good Food Collaborative

Capital Power, a leading North American power producer, is donating over $100,000 to food banks serving communities near its U.S. operations – including a contribution to the Good Food Collaborative Food Pantry. This latest gift brings Capital Power’s cumulative support for food banks across North America to over $1.5 million.

“As Capital Power expands across North America, so does our commitment to the wellbeing of the communities we serve.

Supporting local food banks reflects our dedication to ensuring everyone has the resources they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives – because when our neighbours thrive, so do we,” said Joe Glaze, Site Manager, Cardinal Point Wind at Capital Power. “Organizations like the Good Food Collaborative are a lifeline for many families, and we are proud to support the critical work they're doing to strengthen the community.”

This underscores Capital Power’s purpose- driven approach to growth and community investment. By supporting food banks and other local initiatives, the company aims to make a meaningful, tangible, and lasting impact on the lives of its neighbors.

In addition to corporate donations, many of Capital Power’s community initiatives are propelled by its employees, who have contributed over $1 million to North American charities through the company’s unlimited donation matching program, Generosity and employee grants for employee and family volunteer hours through its Empower Hours Program over the past decade.

Capital Power’s 150-megawatt (MW) Cardinal Point Wind facility located in McDonough and Warren Counties, Illinois began commercial operations in March 2020.
