Host Brown County seized command early and never let go in posting a 75-23 victory over visiting West Prairie/ Southeastern in high school girls basketball action played Dec. 4 in Mt. Sterling.
Brown County improved to 6-0 on the season, while WP/ SE slipped to 3-4.
The Hornets buzzed out to a 29-3 advantage during the initial eight minutes. Kenzie Kassing and Hope Ingram combined to score 19 points for the hosts.
Brown County led 47-15 at halftime and 67-16 entering the final period.
Madelynn Sullivan led WP/SE with 12 points. Payton Mcgrew added seven points, followed by Alyvia Barkley with three and Ashlynn Kelley with one.
Kassing topped Brown County with 25 points in three quarters of action.
Ingram added 12 points, while Cora Anderson and Lena Anderson chipped in 11 points apiece for the Hornets.
Both teams had their share of struggles from the free throw line as WP/SE finished 8-of-20, while Brown County was 12-of-25.
The Cyclones were scheduled to return to action Monday, heading to Peoria Heights to face the Patriots (0-7) in a varsity only contest.
On Thursday, WP/SE is slated to play at Galva. (1-5).
