MHS Freshmen Open Season With Road Victory

The Macomb High freshman boys basketball team rallied from an early deficit to defeat host Lewistown 33-25 Saturday morning.

The Bombers trailed 10-2 after the opening quarter and 16-7 at halftime.

Macomb rallied in the third period, outscoring the Indians 11-6 to climb with 22-18 entering the final stanza.

MHS outscored Lewistown 15-3 in the last frame in completing the comeback to earn the victory.

Demetri Doyle topped MHS with 10 points, eight in the second half.

Terrell Crawford sank three 3-pointers for nine points, followed by Carter Van Vleet and Quincy Adler with five points each.

E. Griffith rounded out the Macomb scoring with four points.

Campbell Johnson and Waylon Sheets topped Lewistown with seven points each.

Wednesday’s scheduled game at Moline High has been canceled. The Bombers are now slated to return to action Thursday hosting Canton.
