Winter Art and Gift Market Dec. 12 & 13
The Western Illinois Museum is partnering with local artisans to bring a festive, creative start to the holiday season with its annual Winter Art & Gift Market. This two-day event highlights the work of 17 talented artists who have created distinctive, handmade gifts perfect for anyone on your list.
Join us on Friday, December 12, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, or Saturday, December 13, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
The market opens with a special Glow Night on Friday, featuring live music by Dan Eilers and bar service to set a warm, festive tone. Artists will display their work throughout the Museum’s galleries, inviting visitors to explore one-ofa- kind handcrafted pieces surrounded by holiday lights and the stories and objects of our region’s history. The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere is perfect for enjoying music, connecting with friends, and spending time with the artists, making for a memorable start to the holiday season.
This year’s lineup blends long-time favorites with fresh new voices. Returning artists include illustrator Carry Depoy, Little Creek Alpacas, and ceramist Skip Skripps. We’re also excited to welcome Ximena Barreto with her fiber art and Dona Lantz with photography, along with several others, offering a wide variety of gifts. A full list of participating artists is available on the market’s website at https://www.macombartmarket. com/. About the Art and Gift Market The Art and Gift Market began over 12 years ago as a way to give local artisans a place to share their handcrafted work with the public. Since then, it has grown into a highly anticipated annual event where visitors can meet artists, support their work, and find unique handmade gifts for loved ones or for themselves. Market organizers carefully select artists whose distinctive styles and well-developed skills will connect with an audience that values original, artisan-made pieces.
