Opera House – Bushnell

The Bushnell Opera House was erected in 1883 by R. S. Randall, S. Houghton and H.L. Randall. The project was finished in 1884.

It was reported that the programs for the first event ever held were printed perfumed.

The house was full when it opened and held 610 people. The building held many events including graduations, lectures, musical shows, vaudeville acts and local plays. The upper rooms were used by doctors, a dentist and a photographer along with others. (The Bushnell Historical Society houses the original photo.)
